In July 2024, JURUN commissioned new hot-state 3D online inspection equipment on the seamless steel pipe production line.
The station scans every pipe while it is still glowing hot, straight off the rolling line. By fusing 2D grayscale imaging with 3D point cloud reconstruction and AI defect recognition, it identifies surface defects — pits, scrapes, roll marks, external threading — at a detection rate above 99%, while continuously measuring diameter and ovality along the full pipe body. Every result is archived against the pipe number for full traceability.
The new station strengthens an in-line quality system that inspects and treats every pipe before it reaches the warehouse:
